Sheila Brady - Hunt Seat Program Director / Operations Manager
Sheila started with HMEC in September, 2011. She is fully licensed and insured. She graduated Suma Cum Laude with a bachelor's in Equine Business Management and Training at Johnson & Wales in 2010. She trained extensively in dressage and huntseat both here and in Germany where she received her large Bronze medals. She now mostly focuses on her IEA team, her many clients who show locally over the summer months, and her large group of adult students. Alyssa Kinsey - Farm Manager
Alyssa is the newest addition to the HMEC team. Horses have been her lifelong passion Riding since she was 3 years old, Alyssa has ridden a variety of disciplines but specializes in Saddle Seat and driving. Claiming numerous championship titles with her American Saddlebred in open pleasure driving and open pleasure horse classes around the northeast. Knowing that the equine industry is where she was meant to be, she attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst's Stockbridge School of Agriculture's Equine Industries program. During her years at UMass Amherst she was involved of all aspects of the horse business, from daily care of the horses to interning with the school's world renowned reproduction veterinarian Dr. Carlos Gradil. After graduating in 2013, she has worked for show and sale barns and most recently working as part of the barn staff at The Hospital for Large Animals at Cummings Veterinary Medical Center at Tufts. Alyssa can be found all around the barn and is usually being trailed closely by her black lab, Lola. You can always feel free to talk to her about anything.
Amber Woodruff - Instructor
Amber is a Cape Cod native whose lifelong passion for horses began at age 7. She spent her early years riding at Holly Hill Farm, before joining Grazing Fields for her junior years. Along the way, Amber won five local junior Championships as well as the Sportsmanship Award at the Mass Days of Champions. After attending college, Amber began her professional career at The Galloping Field in Richmond, Virginia. Preferring her native New England, Amber returned to the area and freelanced at several barns before returning to Grazing Fields in 2009. Amber coaches the Hillside Meadows Western IEA team. Her team has attended and placed in the top 6 in both reining and horsemanship at Western IEA National Finals for the last three years in a row, and in 2015 she coached two riders to National Championships and coached the team to a 5th place finish. Lancelot DiGiovanni - Instructor
Lance has bee involved with horses for 40+ years in France and the US. He trained with French Olympians in jumping, dressage, eventing, and showed extensively. He obtained a French riding instructors degree from ENE L'ecole Nationale d'Equitation, Saumur. He moved back to the US in the early 80's teaching and training. He has taught from beginner to upper level riders. He also brought a horse to the Olympic Qualifiers in France for eventing. Lance's philosophy is in the classic equitation which is based on the respect of the horse and teaching the "why" and the "how" of how riding works. He finds great passion in teaching all aspects of horsemanship. Openings for all levels adults and children alike.
Michelle Tibbits - Instructor
Michelle recently moved home to Massachusetts after living in Idaho for the last 16 years. She has over 25 years riding experience. She started huntseat lessons at age 3 and continued that for 12 years. She found her true passion was for barrel racing, which she has been competing in for the better part of a decade. She is an experienced saddle and money earner in 1D/2D competition. She also has experience in team penning and sorting. She is a licensed large animal veterinary technician and has worked side by side with an equine surgeon for the last 11 years. She is hoping to share her love for barrel racing by offering lessons and a buckle series at hillside meadows. She is also offering trail lessons as well. Bridget Atkins - Assistant IEA Coach / Instructor
Bridget's love for horses started at the age of 5 when her she first sat on one of her family's horses and from then on she was hooked. Bridget learned to ride doing western pleasure before switching over to the hunter jumper world. Bridget competed all over New England doing the jumpers and equitation as a junior before going to Becker College where she graduated with a degree in business management. Bridget rode for Becker's IHSA team for 3 years qualifying for regional finals all three times and making it to Zone Finals twice with the team. Bridget has now been with HMEC for 2 years now. She first started as a camp counselor before taking on the role of assistant coach for HMEC's IEA team. You can find Bridget anywhere on the farm with her trusty dog Loki not far behind her.
Amanda Hornish - Assistant Manager
Amanda started riding when she was 16 and worked at her barn to pay for lessons. Shortly after Amanda started riding she decided that she wanted to make horses her life and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Equine Science and Management specializing in Hunters/Jumpers and Thoroughbred Race Management from Morrisville State College. With it, came a great deal of hands on experience including first aid care, rehabilitation, farm management, and training. She then interned at Full Gallop Farm in Aiken, SC learning the ropes of eventing, retraining OTTB'S, and competed in Beginner- Novice as well as day to day care of around 40 horses. Most recently, she groomed at Plain Dealing Farm in Scottsville, VA working with FEI level competition horses where she helped with day to day care of horses and the facility, as well as traveled to competitions.
Martin has been with us at Hillside since 2007. He works exclusively with our boarders and cares for the grounds. Martin is always around to talk, and cares for all of the horses at Hillside as if they were his own. Everyone loves Martin.
Esteban has been at Hillside since 2009. He works along side Martin to make sure everything is looking its best, and that our boarders are taken care of. You can find him here 6 days a week.
Brett lives on the farm with his two Percherons. He has been at Hillside since it's establishment in 2003. He cares not only for the property but drives us safely to shows. He wears many different hats here at the barn and at AA Transportation.
